The last part of the series of  articles that previously reviewed teams within at League A teams and teams within Group B/D due to play the St. Regis Cowdray Gold Cup, will focus is on those within Group D/E, and how these lineups will reach the quarter finals of the tournament, that celebrates no less than 70 years of heritage, elegance and excellence.

 

This groups is made of a total of seven teams; the three within Group E, will play against each one of Groupd D (in order to complete four matches). Those within Group D will be able to play wth each one within Goup E, in addition to a crossover – La Dolfina Marqués de Riscal vs. Jindal La Dolfina and UAE vs. Park Place. This to complete four matches, as well.

 

  • La Dolfina Marqués de Riscal: The Spaniard-Argentinian team have joined together for the second consecutive year and their aim is aim to overcome the semifinals; it’s worth to remember that their journey in the tournament ended in semis last year. They commenced their participation in the current season in England, by playing the Prince of Wales Trophy, with a 1-1 record, 17 goals in favour and 20 against. Their performance in the Queen’s Cup improved, as they reached the semifinals against Aureus. Out of six games played, they won five and lost one, 79 goals in favour and 57 against. The team members who will participate at Cowdray Park Polo Club’s most siginificant tournament are Alejando Aznar (0), Poroto Cambiaso (10), Félix Esain (6) and Simón Prado (6).

 

  • UAE Polo Team: The Middle East-based organisation, who already claimed the Gold Cup in 2023, arrives to the competition in search of a rematch – 2025 was a year to forget for them. In 2026, they kicked off playing the Queen’s Cup, displaying a good performance – 2-2 record and on the edge to qualify to quarter finals, with 40 goals in favour and 37 against. Team members: H.H Sheikha Maitha (0), Hugo Taylor (5), Lukin Monteverde (8) and Juan Martín Nero (9).

 

  • Park Place: Park Place aims to get back to the remarkable performance delivered in 2025, when they ran out the champions of the Queen’s Cup. Their path started in the Prince of Wales Trophy, but they were able to play just one match and, although they won 11-10, they withdrew. The next step was to defend the title of the Queen’s Cup, but they were unlucky, and couldn’t overcome the league phase, with a 2-2 record, 48 goals in favour and 44 against. Team members: Andrey Borodin (0), Hilario Ulloa (9), Jerónimo del Carril (7) and Louis Hine (6).

 

  • Jindal Steel La Dolfina: A brand new organisation that brings together India’s Jindal Steel and Argentina’s La Dolfina. Their objective is try to win the most coveted trophy of the season, and improve their performance in a season that didn’t work as good as they expected. They were runner up in the Prince of Wales Trophy but they lost to Cibao La Pampa (9-8), in a very close final. The Queen’s Cup was not much better – they lost four games and only claimed one, with a total of 49 goals against and 47 in favour. Team members: Naveen Jindal (0), Adolfo Cambiaso (9), Gonzalo Ferrari (7) and Rufino Merlos (6).

 

  • La Hechicera: We could certainly say it is the team to beat in this season, up-to-date; moreover, is the only lineup that remains unbeaten. The name changed from La Hechicera to Balanz Capital. While there is another patron to play the Gold Cup, the three professionals remain. The victorious path started in the Trippetts Challenge, after beating Gaston in the final, with a 3-0 record, 42 goals in favour and 27 against. They swept everybody in the Queen’s Cup, and claimed the second title at Guards Polo Club, with a perfect 7-0 record, 98 goals in favour and 63 against. The team members for the Gold Cup are Pablo Galante (0), Camilo Castagnola (10), Lorenzo Chavanne (7) and Ned Hine (5).

 

  • Kazak: Sébastien Aguettant ‘s French foursome is growing steady; a runner up last year, they aim to repeat, although with a different and happy end. They started the 2026 season in England by playing the Prince of Wales Trophy, and although they reached a 2-0 record, 26 goals in favour and 23 against, it was not enough to qualify to the final. They delivered a good performance in the Queen’s Cup, but they were dropped in quarter finals by La Dolfina Marqués de Riscal. Their record at Guards, 2-4, with 60 goals in favour and 70 against. Team members: Sebastian Aguettant (0), Nicolás Pieres (8), Francisco Elizalde (9) and León Donoso (5).

 

  • Sujan Indian Tigers: With enough experience and years competing, the second Indian organisation will take part of the tournament at Cowdray Park Polo Club, aiming to overcome the league phase for the first time. They kicked off in the Queen’s Cup, but they were unable to claim a win (0-4); 39 goals in favour and 46 against. Team members: Jaisal Singh (0), Marcos Araya (6), Juano Britos (8) and Juan Martín Zubía (8).
