The final of the Tortugas Open, the first leg of the Argentine Triple Crown, is set to be played on Tuesday, November 10. Once again, we will see two stellar organisations play for the title: Ellerstina and La Dolfina.

As has now become the norm, no spectators will be allowed into the grounds of the Alfredo Lalor Headquarters of the Argentine Association of Polo, in Pilar. Official media can only enter under strict hygiene and safety protocols.

However, this upcoming final will see significant changes. Current title holders Ellerstina will not see four the Pieres take to the field, as Hilario Ulloa has now joined the team instead of Polito. Ulloa will play for the title alongside the three Pieres brothers – Facundo, Gonzalito and Nicolás. It is worth noting that Hilario is no stranger to Triple Crown finals, having played three so far ( the 2017 Hurlingham Open final and the 2013 and 2018 Argentine Open finals).

Their rivals will be La Dolfina Saudi – albeit an unusual La Dolfina foursome. It has been a tricky start to the season for the Cañuelas-based team, with three 10-goalers –  Pablo MacDonough, Pelón Stirling and Juan Martín Nero – dropping off the field due to injuries.

As a result, Adolfo Cambiaso will be the only member of the original lineup on the field on Tuesday. Superstar Adolfo will be joined by his son, Poroto, who at only 14-years-old will be playing his first ever Triple Crown final. Brazilian Rodrigo Ribeiro de Andrade and Iñaki Laprida, another newcomer to the Triple Crown finals, will be joining the two Cambiaso’s on the field.

In this atypical Argentine Spring season, Ellerstina and La Dolfina will battle it out for the first big title.

The final kicks off at 4pm; prior to the big game, at 11am, La Ensenada La Aguada will play La Natividad Las Monjitas, for the Subsidiary Sarmiento Cup.
