Tonkawa and Travieso, who made their debut in the current World Polo League, played the opening game. Tonkawa, with Pablo MacDonough and Juan Martín Nero, led the action thoroghout the six chukkas of play. However, Travieso had another ideas in mind; with just one minute in regulation time, Tony Calle & Co were leading 9-8. But far from giving up, Tonkawa bounced back – Juan Martín Nero came up to pick the ball, ran to the goalposts and tied at 9-all, to send the match into extra chukka.
