The high goal season in Wellington has come to an end, but polo in the States is set to continue with an exciting series of tournament set near one of the most important cities on the planet. New York City is widely known as the capital of the world, with its economy, business, and tourism attracting attention from every angle. As such, the Big Apple can’t be far removed from polo; played a few minutes from Manhattan, the New York Polo Series will take over the city as of the second half of the year, with four tournaments that will set the season alight.

Organised by Meadowbrook Polo Club, the Series will be played in the aforementioned club, as well as at Bethpage Polo Park, just 24 miles outside Manhattan. The club has made a notable investment in its infrastructure and field development, adding to the excitement of the season. The New York Polo Series, to be enjoyed by polo lovers and novices alike from June to September, will certainly draw a crowd.

The series will be composed of the Northeast Cup, the Old Westbury Cup and the New York Open; every tournament will be played at a 12-goal level, and the series will be played in a Triple Crown format. Points will be awarded for every match played, which means that at the end of the season there will be a winning team, which will take an important prize. If one teams claims all three tournaments, the prize will be greater still.

A Sunday Game will be played every week at 3pm at Bethpage Polo Park, the East Coast’s most traditional club, which in the past hosted the US Open, among other prestigious tournaments. An 8-goal tournament, the Meadowbrook Cup, will also be played alongside the 12-goal Triple Crown, and will be covered by PoloLine. The season will kick off with a cocktail in Manhattan, in which teams and sponsors will be presented.
