Klentner Ranch ran out the champions of the Pacific Coast Open, one of the most significant competitions of American Polo. The final took place on Sunday August 30 at Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club, in Santa Barbara, California, United States, and the winners defeated former title holders, La Karina, by a 16-9 score, in a remarkable contest that allowed Jake Klentner’s foursome to lift the massive trophy for the fourth time.

The winning team, made of  Jake Klentner, Ignacio “Nachi” Viana, Jesse Bray and Justin Klentner, delivered an outstanding performance thoroghout the whole tournament, producing 67 goals in six games. La Karina, with Brian Boyd, Carlos “Carlitos” Gracida Jr., Felipe “Pipe” Vercellino and Lucas Escobar, aimed to retain the title they claimed in 2025, when after dropping Klentner Ranch in the semifinals.

The championship match was remarkable indeed, with a commanding Jesse Brey, who led Klentner Ranch with his skils and accuracy for long shots. Meanwhile, Carlitos Gracida demonstrated his ability in the throw-ins. In addition, the contest was intense – one goal post fell, there were three falls that demanded medical attention and a shot by Lucas Escobar flied to the grandsstands, that caused broken glasses, however with no consequences for the spectators.

At the end of the day, Klentner Ranch were victorious 16-9, and secured a title after a perfect tournament. Their success came on a very significant moment in the history of Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club, the site of the Pacific Coast Open, since 1952. It’s worth noticing that the first edition of the Pacific Coast Open dates back to 1909. Besides, this year featured the return of the United Polo Association (USPA) as the title sponsors, reinforcing the bond between the governing body of polo in the United States and the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club.
