Thai Polo beat Monterosso 13-12 to claim the Justerini & Brooks Prince of Wales Trophy, the opening high goal tournament of the English season. The thrilling championship match took place at the Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club, on Saturday, May 29.

Thai Polo, who received one goal on handicap, fought hard against a determined Monterosso team, who made an impressive comeback in the last chukka to tie the game 12-all and force the action into OT.

Halfway into OT, 15-year-old Louis Hine received a pass from Alejandro Muzzio, and ran down the field to score the winning goal and secured the title.

Rufino Bensadon, who scored seven goals, was named MVP, while Irenita Dama  (Open Trueno x Irenita Princesa), ridden by Louis Hine, took BPP honors. The Best Polo Argentino Bred of the final, presented by the Argentine Polo Pony Breeders Association, went to Luca Penélope (River Slaney x Gete Moon), played by Rufino Bensadon.
