Scone and La Dolfina played a thrilling championship match of the 58th. Jockey Club Open Thai Polo Cup, at Jockey Club San Isidro, on Saturday September 24. Scone, who aimed to retain the title obtained in 2022, dominated the first half of the contest, led by their three 10-goalers, Camilo Castagnola, Bartolomé Castagnola Jr. and Poroto Cambiaso, who tilted the balance in favour or David Paradice’s foursome.

Meanwhile, La Dolfina struggled against a tough opponent; they reached a 11-4 lead by half time, and following the fourth chukka, David and the boys claimed an impressive 12-6 advantage. And despite La Dolfina improved their performance slowly, Scone overwhelmed them by widening the gap, which, at the end of the day, led them to a brilliant win to retain the title.

Authorities of the Jockey Club, Argentine Association of Polo, Argentine Polo Pony Breeders Association and Thai Polo led the awards presentation. Daniel González, one of the most remarkable personalities in Argentine polo, delivered some moving words in memory of the great Juan Carlos Harriott Jr., who passed away on September 11, and considered the best polo player in history.

The trophy to the winners was presented by Guillermo Strada, representing the Jockey Club. Delfín Uranga, President of the Argentine Association of Polo, presented the awards to the runner up.
