With all sights already on the upcoming quarter finals, the last league matches of the British Open Polo Championship for the Cowdray Gold Cup, commenced on Monday July 4, with two games played at Cowdray Park Polo Club, that saw Dubai and Park Place victorious. The club’s premier tournament sees fourteen teams up to 23 goals, compete.

In the day’s opening contest, Dubai remained unbeaten, after their 12-10 win over Twelve Oaks. Despite the close final result, Rashid Albwardy’s lineup managed to dominate Charlie Wooldridge’s team, the winners of the past Justerini & Brooks Prince of Wales Trophy, and only slowed down in the last chukka.  Up next, Park Place earned a significant win over Monterosso (who received one goal on handicap). As happened in the previous match, Park Place had no trouble at all to control the match thoroghout the first half, and even managed to leave Alessandro Bazzoni and Co. scoreless for two chukkas. And although the deal was almost said and done in the fourth chukka, Park Place outscored Monterosso 3-2 in the last chukka to claim the final 13-6 victory.
