The American polo season has come to an end. Pilot claimed the title of the most significant tournament in the United States, the US Open Polo Championship, for a second time, and with that, the season concluded. Following a few days of rest, polo players are set to head to different venues to start the much anticipated European season. One of the most exiting seasons on the horizon is the English one, which kicked off in late April.

Several teams are confirmed to play the 22-goal. The high goal will start with the Prince of Wales Trophy, at Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club, and the Trippetts Challenge, at Cowdray Park Polo Club; next up, the Queen’s Cup, at Guards Polo Club, while Cirencester Park Polo Club will host the traditional Warwickshire Cup. The culminating moment of the season will be the British Open Gold Cup, played at Cowdray Park Polo Club, before the 22-goal circuit closes with the POW’s Championship, at Guards. Guards Polo Club is also set to host a new edition of the 26-goal Coronation Cup, an event that goes beyond the maximum handicap level in the country, and will see England take on Uruguay.

As well as the attractive 22-goal tournaments, there will be tournaments of all levels hosted by many clubs. The Duke of Sutherland Cup (Cowdray Park Polo Club), British Ladies Open Championship (Cowdray Park Polo Club), The Queen Mother’s Centenary Trophy (Guards Polo Club), Royal Windsor Cup (Guards Polo Club), Archie David Cup (Guards Polo Club), Eduardo Moore Tournament (Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club) and the Indian Empire Shield (Coworth Park Polo Club), are among the most important to be played on British soil over the upcoming months.

As was confirmed by PoloLine in an article dated March 24, a total of 10 teams will play the Prince of Wales Trophy, while more are expected to play the 22-goal tournaments.
