It’s non stop action at Aspen Valley Polo Club, and the past weekend saw the finals of two of the most traditional tournaments of the wonderful spot set in Colorado, United States – the Dee Jensen Memorial Cup and the Sopris Cup, with Mountain Chevrolet and Audi victorious, respectively.
In the final of the Sopris Cup, Audi (Jason Crowder, Alejandro Novillo Astrada, Juan Bollini) beat Los Amigos (Alejandra Foster, Sugar Erskine, Tomacho Pieres, Nacho Novillo Astrada) 9-6. Jason Crowder was named MVP. The Dee Jensen Memorial Cup was played for the first time, as a tribute to Dr. David Jensen’s wife, who lost a long battle with cancer; that’s why before the start of the match, a one minute silence was observed.
With regards to the final, Mountain Chevrolet (Michael Payne, Hilario Figueras, Grant Ganzi, Nic Roldan) superó a The Setai (Paul Foster, Santos Bollini, Alejandro Novillo Astrada, Santi Toccalino) claimed a narrow 7-6 win, after a hard fought contest.
