Santa Quiteria were named the first winners of the 50th Anniversary Torneo Internacional de Polo by La Reserva Club de Sotogrande following their 11-8 win against Cibao La Pampa in the final of the medium goal Volvo Bronze Cup played at Santa María Polo Club, on Friday, July 30.

The match got off to an even start, but Santa Quiteria took off in the third, with the team’s highest rated player, Ignacio Negri, scoring three unanswered goals. From then onwards, the team owned by José Manuel and Gonzalo Entrecanales took control of the match. Despite Cibao La Pampa’s efforts, Santa Quiteria took the win to become undefeated champions of the medium goal Volvo Bronze Cup.

On Saturday, July 31, Dos Lunas La Hacienda and Marqués de Riscal will go head to head for the high goal Volvo Bronze Cup. The match will be played on ground 3, at Santa María Polo Club, at 7pm.

The 50th Anniversary Torneo Internacional de Polo by La Reserva Club de Sotogrande sees twelve teams, split into two categories, compete. The high goal is for 18-20 goal teams, while the medium goal is for 12-14 goal teams.
