Victory/Eastern Hay claimed a 7-5 win over La Dolfina, and won the US Open Women’s Polo Championship, in the final that took place on Sunday February 15, at the National Polo Center (NPC), in Wellington, Florida. The most important ladies tournament in the United States saw seven teams up to 23 goals (ladies handicap), partake.
The contest had two very leveled first chukkas that ended up with ties – by the end of the second chukka they were 2-all. But from the third chukka onwards, everything started to change for Victory/Eastern Hay, led by their two British players, Hazel Jackson and Milly Hine, who delivered remarkable performances and encouraged their team to earn solid advantages. They had the deal said and done in the penultimate chukka, when Victory/Eastern Hay had a 7-5 lead whcih, at the end of the day, would be the final result after a scoreless last chukka.
On a personal side, this has been the third US Open Women’s Championship for the fabulous Milly Hine, who has also won two consecutive Argentine Women’s Open Championship.
