La Indiana took an impressive 14-9 win over Daily Racing Form to claim the 2020 USPA Gold Cup. The tournament had remained unfinished due to the outbreak of COVID-19 last March. The final took place at International Polo Club Palm Beach on Sunday, February 14.

It proved difficult for Daily Racing Form (who received a goal on handicap) to stop La Indiana’s overwhelming dominance throughout the match. Led by Polito Pieres, who scored five goals, La Indiana shone both in attack and defence, taking crucial advantages over Jared Zenni’s lineup. By half time, La Indiana had secured a commanding 9-2 lead.

In the next two chukkas, La Indiana scored sufficient goals to secure a seven goal advantage (14-7) going into the penultimate chukka. Tommy Collingwood was able to score a couple of goals for Daily Racing Form in the last, but the damage had been done, and La Indiana took the 2020 title.

At the awards presentation, Jeff Hall was named MVP, while Machitos Pangia, ridden by Polito Pieres, was took BPP honours.
