As is known, back in March 202o, sporting activities were cancelled due to the pandemic. The USPA Gold Cup, the second stage of the Gauntlet of Polo, had to be postponed (alongside many other tournaments). The competition had reached the semifinal stage when pandemic outbreak. These semifinals will be resumed on Wednesday, February 10, at International Polo Club Palm Beach.

Daily Racing Form and Las Monjitas will open fire at 10am, while defending champions, Pilot, will face La Indiana later in the afternoon, at 3pm.

It is worth noting that the lineups have undergone significant changes. While Daily Racing Form’s team remains the same, a different foursome now represents Las Monjitas. The team now includes two Argentine 10-goalers, Pablo MacDonough and Juan Martín Nero (the new members of RS Murus Sanctus in the upcoming 2021 Argentine Triple Crown). Title holders Pilot (who took the trophy in 2019), have Keko Magrini filling in for Luis Escobar, and La Indiana have hired Nico Escobar in place of Esteban Panelo.

The final of the 2020 USPA Gold Cup is due to be played on Sunday, February 14.
