The US Open Championship, the most prestigious polo tournament in the United States, continued on Thursday, April 1, with a new qualifying round at International Polo Club Palm Beach, where Tonkawa and Park Place won their respective games. First, Tonkawa took an 11-9 win over Aspen-Dutta Corp, before Park Place and Scone went head to head in a rematch of the CV Whitney Cup final, where Andrey Borodin’s team emerged victorious once again, claiming a 9-8 win.

The US Open Championship sees nine teams, up to 22-goals, compete. The 2020 edition was suspended due to the pandemic, meaning that Pilot are still the defending champions, having taken the title in 2019.
