Pilot defeated La Elina 11-6 to win the US Open Polo Championship, the most coveted tournament in the United States, at International Polo Club Palm Beach, in Wellington, United States. While the first two chukkas were hard fought, Curtis Pilot’s team dominated the rest of the match.

Pilot, led by an extraordinary Facundo Pieres, seized the reins in a crucial third chukka. Pieres arguably delivered one of his best performances in the last few years, riding some of the best horses, many of them brought over from Argentina to play the US Open. Pieres took the field by storm, steering his team to a fantastic victory.

The win gave Facundo his sixth US Open title. Furthermore, he was named MVP, and his horses all earned the BPP blankets. For Curtis Pilot and Matías Torres Zavaleta, it was their second US Open win, while the young Mackenzie Weisz took his first title. Pilot rise to the top of the Gauntlet of Polo after three years, claiming their second trophy of 2022, having previously won the USPA Gold Cup.
