The 79° Tortugas Country Club Open resumed on Wednesday with a second day of action. Two matches were played, both of them at private clubs.

First up, Las Monjitas, runners-up of last year’s Argentine Open, claimed a solid debut win; they outplayed La Aguada, beating them 13 goals to 2. Next, Ellerstina defeated La Ensenada 17-6 at home. Juan Gris Zavaleta, making his debut for La Ensenada, suffered a nasty fall; both he and Nico Pieres had to be replaced in the third chukker after a rough collision. 

As in 2018, Las Monjitas and Ellerstina will face each other in the tournament semifinals. The match is expected to be played on Monday.

Weather allowing, the first fixture of Tortugas, originally scheduled for Tuesday, will be completed on Thursday in Pilar. The match will start mid way through the second chukker, with Cría Yatay leading 5-1 against La Dolfina Polo Ranch. Defending champions La Dolfina have their Tortugas debut on Thursday; they will play La Albertina Abu Dhabi.
