The Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club is getting ready for a new edition of the United States Polo Association Pacific Coast Open, considered one of the most prestigious competitions of American Polo. The tournament will run through August 14 and 30, and will mark the returno of the United States Polo Association (USPA) as the title sporsor, in order to strenghth the bond with one of the most significant polo destinations of the West Coast.
In addition, the official brand United States Polo Association (USPA) will be back as Title Sponsor and Official Apparel. This will allow to reinforce a long-term association with the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club and represents the continuity of a bond that brings two institucions together, and linked to history, traddition and international expanding of polo. J. Michael Prince, President and CEO of USPA Global, remarked the pride of the company to return as the title sponsor and the long term association with the club.
The presence of the USPA will be a part of the experience within the tournament. The USPA Divot Stomp, a drink especially created for the tournament – it’s inspired by the divot stomp, made by the spectators during half time. The drink will be available during the Sunday games. In addition, there will be a special collection of clothes and accesories related to the 2026 edition of the tournament, that includes jerseys, caps, bags and several other pieces bearing the official logo.
The Pacific Coast Open was played for the first time in 1909, and today is one of the oldest polo competitions in history. The iconic trophy, five feet tall and made of silver and gold, is one of the most recognisable symbols of the tournament and has remained in Santa Barbara since 1952.
The tournament will begin on Friday August 14; games are due on Fridays at 4pm and Sundays at 5,30pm. The semifinals will take place on Friday August 28 and the championship match will be held on Sunday August 30. Both the semifinals and final will be streamed live worldwide by the USPA Polo Network.
