Talandracas and title holders Great Oaks Les Lions claimed debut victories in The Queen’s Cup after defeating Murus Sanctus La Magdeleine and Emlor, respectively. The tournament sees fifteen teams, up to 22 goals, compete. Teams are split into three leagues.

 

The first match, played at Cowdray Park Polo Club, saw Talandracas (with Max Voelker filling in for Edouard Carmignac) beat Murus Sanctus La Magdeleine by 13 goals to 14. Following a very close first half, Talandracas made an impressive comeback in the remaining chukkas, led by the lethal attack of Jeta Castagnola and Diego Cavanagh.

Next, Great Oaks Les Lions had no trouble claiming a 15-6 win over Emlor, at Guards Polo Club.

 

The final of the Queen’s Cup is scheduled on Sunday, June 27.
