La Dolfina Marques de Riscal, Kazak, Aureus, Gaston, Balanz Capital, Ferne Park, Dubai and Akasha are the eight teams due to play the quarter finals of The Queen’s Cup. The matches in search for the four spots in semifinals will be played on Saturday June 6 and Sunday June 7.
The premier tournament of Guards Polo Club, set in Windsor Great Park, sees nineteen teams up to 22 goals, in participation.
It’s worth to notice that the defending champions is out of competition, after their lost against Akasha, in a tough match that was decided in an extra chukka. In the meantime, Group 2 needed a penalty shootout between Black Bears, Ferne Park, Kazak and UAE, to determine those who would play the quarter finals. since the four teams had finished the league stages on two wins and two losses. The winners were the two teams with the Pieres brothers within the lineups – Ferne Park (Facundo) and Kazak (Nicolás).

3pm: Aureus vs. Gaston (The Duke’s Ground, Guards Polo Cub)
The winner will receive the Platinum Jubilee Trophy
- Sunday June 7
12pm: Balanz Capital vs. Ferne Park (Noel Farm)
3pm: Dubai Polo Team vs. Akasha (The Princes’ Ground, Guards Polo Club)
The winner will receive the Gerard Leigh Trophy.
The Queen’s Cup was established in 1960, in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away on September 8 2022. Her Majesty was not only the longest serving monarch of Great Britain (February 1952-September 2022), but also the second longest in history, behind His Majesty Louis XIV, known as Le Roi Soleil (The Sun King), who ruled France during 72 years (1643 to 1715). Queen Elizabeth II was suceeded by her son, His Majesty King Charles III, who is also the current President of Guards Polo Club, a position he inherited from his father, His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, who founded the club on January 25 1955 and remained as the President until his passing, on April 9, 2021.
