Action for the Open de France BARNES resumed through Monday September 7 and Tuesday September 8, at the Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly, in La Ferme d’Apremont, in the outskirts of Paris. The most important tournament in France sees twelve teams up to 16 goals, compete. Teams are split in four groups.
Ten of the twelve teams have already played two matches – Essso, Eternal J, Ste. Mesme, Akasha, Kazak, Talandracas, La Esperanza, Télédou, Clinova y Jolly Roger. Title holders, Octogone, remains unbeaten having won their three matches; Ahro also played three games, but they have a 2-1 record, after losing to Ste. Mesme on Tuesday September 8. The first eight positioned teams will be eligible to play the quarter finals, due on Saturday September 12 and Sunday September 13.

OPEN DE FRANCE BARNES – FORMAT
The 2026 edition of the Open de France BARNES will showcase an unusual format. The three teams in Group A will play all three teams in Group B; teams in Group C will clash against those in Group D. This means that each foursome without facing either of the other teams in their own group. By the end of the cross-group matches, all twelve teams will be brought together in a single overall ranking, with the top eight qualifying for the quarter-finals. There will therefore be little opportunity to calculate a comfortable route out of a group: every result will count in a common race for those eight places.
