The Joe Barry Memorial Cup, the second tournament of the 2022 season in Palm Beach, hosted by the International Polo Club, is set to kick off on Sunday, January 9. The tournament sees four teams, up to 18 goals, compete for the title. The teams ranked third and fourth will go head to head in the Bobby Barry Cup.

The Joe Barry Memorial Cup is a tribute to American 9-goal player Joe Barry, who was born and raised in Truscott, Texas. He won the US Open six times (1968, 1970, 1974, 1975, 1977 and 1979), played the Americas Cup, as well as the Coronation Cup. He was induced into the Museum of Polo and Hall of Fame in February 1999.

The Bobby Barry Cup is also named after an American 9-goaler, winner of the Butler Handicap, the CV Whitney Cup and a US Open runner. Bobby Barry passed away unexpectedly while out jogging in Santa Barbara in July 2008.
