On Thursday July 3, a new tournament began at Ayala Polo Club, set in Sotogrande, in the south of Spain, the Copa Manuel Prado y Colón de Carbajal. The competition, that sees nine teams up to 8 goals, in participation, is the last contest before the start of the much anticipated Torneo Internacional de Polo, on July 22, that features the Copa de Bronce, Copa de Plata and Copa de Oro, for all three levels of play (low goal, medium goal and high goal).

Teams are due to play three qualifying games to be able to play the final. The results of the opening day are as follows:

Pampa y La Via 8-6.5 Dany’s Polo/Adrenalina

Legacy 7-6 Polothanda

John Smith 8-6 Hanuman.

The final of the Copa Memorial Manuel Prado y Colón de Carvajal will take place on Sunday July 13.
