The much anticipted 2026 spring season in Argentina is just around the corner; on Thursday August 6, the Argentine Association of Polo (AAP) unveiled the complete calendar of tournaments, that include the most renowned polo trophy in the world, the Triple Crown in Argentina, made of the Hurlingham Open, Tortugas Open and Argentine Open. The 2026 spring season in Argentina will commence on August 28 with the San Jorge Open, and will come to an end with the most important championship match of the year, the Argentine Open at Palermo, due on December 12.
It’s worth remembering that the AAP announced last April that the the two teams emerging from the Torneo Clasificatorio por las Copas Remonta y Veterinaria (Qualification Tournament) won’t play the Argentine Open only, as happened until last year. Instead, they will be eligible to play the Tortugas Open, as well. Therefore, this will increase the number of matches – 52 in total, eight more than the usual 44. In addition, and on the same month, the AAP revealed the dates and teams to compete in the 2026 Triple Crown (Hurlingham Open, Tortugas Open and Argentine Open).
