A new edition of the most important ladies tournament in the United States, the US Open Women’s Championship, kicked off in Palm Beach, on Wednesday January 28. The contest will see seven teams up to 23 goals (ladies handicap), partake, in lineups that will feature some of the most remarkable ladies players, such as Mía Cambiaso, Hazel Jackson, America’s own 10-goaler Hope Arellano, Nina Clarkin, Milly Hine.

 

The first ever US Open Women’s Polo Championship dates back to 1930s, featured by the United States Women’s Polo Association (USWPA). The first ladies competition took place in 1937, at Golden Gate Field, San Francisco, with Riviera (Louise Tracey, Dorothy Rodgers, Audrey Scott and Ruth Cropp) victorious over Santa Barbara 9-4, to claim the title.

 

The tournament will be played at Port Mayaca Polo Club, while the semifinals and final will take place at the National Polo Center (NPC). Teams will play two league games each in order to reach the semifinals.

 

In the opening game of the 2026 edition of the US Women’s Polo Championship, La Dolfina claimed a 7-4 win over Las Brisas.
