Talandracas claimed a 10-8 win over Barriere on Saturday, August 15, the second day of the traditional Coupe d’Or, hosted by Deauville International Polo Club. The tournament, which has been played since 1950, is one of the most coveted trophies of the international calendar. This year’s edition sees six teams, up to 16 goals, playing for the title.

Edouard Carmignac’s team, led by Camilo “Jeta” Castagnola, got off to a strong start against Barriere, scoring a commanding 3-0 lead in the first chukka. Barriere did their best to get back in the game. They succeed halfway into the fifth chukka, tying the match 7-all, but Talandracas replied quickly, ultimately taking the 10-8 debut win.

The Coupe d’Or resumes on Tuesday, August 17, with a match between Le Pommeray HM Polo Team and Los Dragones, at 5:30pm.

The final of the Coupe d’Or is scheduled for Sunday, August 29.
