Royal Johor won the first edition of the Johor Super Crown Polo Tournament, following a 10-7 win over Tomasek, in a thrilling final played at the Royal Johor Polo Club, in Johor, Malaysia. The local team delivered a brilliant performance to close a remarkable 22-goal tournament, that saw some of the most international renowned polo players in participation.
Despite an injury in a hand, HRH Crown Pince Ismail Ibrahim produced a fantastic performance, and was the crucial man of his team, scoring no les than six of the ten goals for Royal Johor. He definetly led the foursome to the title. In addition HRH Prince Ismail was named MVP, and his horse, Poliya Cara Pálida, took BPP honors.
The title was the icing on the cake for HRH Crown Prince Ismail, who played an outstanding tournament, in which his scored 15 goals. Royal Johor, with a lineup that included Pablo Pieres and Juan Martín Nero, produced a historical performance, that secures Johor’s growth as a new and exciting destination for polo, the highest rated polo tournament in Malaysia. According to HRH Prince Ismail, the aim is raise the competiton’s handicap to 24, in 2027.
