La Irenita ran out the winners of the Republica Cup following a fantastic final at Palermo on Tuesday, March 29. Coronel Suarez and Trenque Lauquen took the subsidiary Diario La Nacion and Canada Cups, respectively. This edition of the Republica Cup saw sixteen teams, between 8 and 25 goals, representing 11 circuits compete.

First up, on ground 2, Coronel Suarez beat La Lucila by 13 goals to 11 to win the La Nacion Cup, the most important subsidiary trophy, for second year in a row. Next, Trenque Lauquen narrowly beat Las Rosas 11-10 to take the second subsidiary, the Canada Cup.

Finally on Palermo’s number one ground, La Irenita claimed the main trophy of the day, the Republica Cup, after defeating La Chavita 14-13 in OT with golden goal by Vizcacha MacDonough.
