The Queen’s Cup continued on Wednesday, May 25, with two games. Monterosso and UAE claimed respective victories over Marqués de Riscal and Twelve Oaks. Guards Polo Club’s most prestigious tournament sees fifteen teams, up to 22 goals, compete for the title.

In the first match of the day, Monterosso were able to control the play to defeat Marqués de Riscal 10-8. The final score does not reflect the extent to which Alessandro Bazzoni’s team dominated the game. By helf time they were leading by an impressive 8-2 score. Marqués de Riscal fought hard to get back in the game, but Monterosso were too strong of an opponent.

A very tough match followed. Reigning champions UAE managed to claim a narrow 13-12 win over Twelve Oaks. Charlie Wooldridge’s team had a 11-9 lead with one chukka left to play, but Sheikha Maitha and her boys fought back to seal the deal in the last and take their second win in the tournament.
