Alegria Fish Creek defeated La Fija by 14 goals to 11 on Monday, November 1, at the Argentine Association of Polo, in Pilar, to qualify for the Argentine Open.

The Qualification Tournament saw seven teams, between 28 and 30 goals, compete. Teams were split into two leagues. Chapaleufu and Alegria Fish Creek, respective winners of League A and B, qualified for Palermo.

The results mean that Fred Mannix’s organisation will have two teams playing the most important polo tournament in the world – Alegria and Alegría Fish Creek (the latter was unbeaten in the Qualification Tournament). The event means that the talented Bautista Bayugar will debut in Palermo. Alegría Fish Creek’s Bayugar already got a taste of the Triple Crown when he subbed in for Nicolás Pieres in Ellerstina in the Hurlingham Open match against La Dolfina Brava.

Also on Monday, La Esquina beat La Aguada by 13 goals to 11. With both teams out of the running for the Triple Crown, they now join the eleven top ranked teams of the Pilar Cup to play the Cámara de Diputados Cup.
