Talandracas beat Sainte Mesme by 8 goals to 6 to qualify for the semifinals of the Open de France Engels & Volkers, the culminating stage of the Triple Crown of France. The tournament sees ten teams, up to 16 goals, compete at Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly, located 30 minutes from Paris.

Sainte Mesme were ahead for most of the match as Talandracas struggled to get into the game. They managed to close the gap down to one goal at the end of the fourth chukka, but Talandracas really began to shine in the fifth and decisive chukka. They reinforced their attack and outscored Sainte Mesme by 3 goals to 0 and ultimately securing the victory and a place in the semifinals.

Los Dragones also qualified for the semifinals following a penalty shootout against Mungo and Le Pommeray HM. Los Dragones now face Kazak in the next stage of the tournament. Talandracas’ rival will be revealed on Tuesday, September 14, after the game between Marquard Media and La Magdeleine, at 1pm. Kazak, a team already in semis, will take on Clinova Noa Capital at 5pm.

Some of the most renowned players in the world, such as Talandracas’ Camilo Castagnola, runner up of the 2020 edition, Tomás Beresford, Martín Aguerre Jr., Clemente Zavaleta, Juan Gris Zavaleta, Alejandro Muzzio, Bautista Bayugar, Tito Ruiz Guiñazu, Facundo Llorente, Jero Del Carril and Rufiino Bensadon, are playing in the tournament. Many top French players, such as Brieuc Rigaux, Pierre Henri N’Goumou, Robert Strom and Patrick Paillol, are also competing.
