The first semifinal of the Open de France, that’s currently underway at the Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly, located in Apremont, France, had taken place on Thursday September 15, and the contenders were title holders, La Magdeleine and the recent runner up of the last Coupe d’Or in Deauville, Talandracas. The competition sees sixteen teams up to 16 goals, in participation.

Alexandre Garese’s lineup got off to a better start, retaining slight advantages under the command of the foursome’s two top, Tito Ruiz Guiñazu and Facundo Fernández Llorente, who produced three goals each. But everything would change from the fourth chukka onwards, when Edouard Carmignac and Co. took the lead, until everything was said and done in the last chukka, thanks to Juan Martin Zubia’s oustanding performance, who produced a total of six goals. Talandracas not only claimed the 9-6 win but also the first ticket to the championship match.

The final of the Open de France is set to be played on Sunday, September 18.
