Le Pommeray HM and La Magdelaine claimed respective wins over Los Dragones and Brittany Polo Club, as the Open de France Engels & Volkers, continued on Thursday, September 9. The Open de France is the culminating stage of the French Triple Crown played at Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly. Ten teams, up to 16 goals, are in competition.

In Thursday’s opening match, young Rufino Bensadon gave a superb performance, scoring all eight goals for Le Pommeray HM and leading them to a 8-6 win against Los Dragones. Up next, La Magdelaine dominated the match – they reached an impressive 7-1 lead by the third chukka – to defeat Brittany Polo by 9 goals to 6.

Many of the most renowned players in the world, such as Talandracas’ Camilo Castagnola, runner up of the 2020 edition, Tomás Beresford, Martín Aguerre Jr., Clemente Zavaleta, Juan Gris Zavaleta, Alejandro Muzzio, Bautista Bayugar, Tito Ruiz Guiñazu, Facundo Llorente, Jero Del Carril and Rufiino Bensadon, are playing in the tournament. Many top French players, such as Brieuc Rigaux, Pierre Henri N’Goumou, Robert Strom and Patrick Paillol, are also competing.
