The first final of the Spring Iberian Polo Tour, The Memorial José Ignacio Domecq, was played on Sunday April 13, at Ayala Polo Club, located in Sotogrande, Spain. The tournament, that took place at the club set in Andalucía kicked off a couple of weeks ago and saw seven teams up to 8 goals, partake.
Savoir and Elemental, with a 3-1 record each, clashed in the decisive game, following their wins in semifinals over 1896/Polothanda and Quinto Elemento, respectively.
Although Elemental earned the first chukka 1-0, Savoir took off in the second, led by a powerful Jack Hyde, who was in charge to overcome the result. By the end of the fourth and penultimate chukka, Savoir were 5-2 up. The sixth chukka ended up with a 1-all, but the damage has been done, and Savoir was victorious.
