The championship match of the Santa Paula Cup, the interscholastic tournament that presents the trophy donated in 1951 by the Reynal brothers, as a tribute to their mother, Mrs. Paula Llauró de Reynal, was played on Monday October 4 at the Argentine Association of Polo, in Pilar. The tournament saw twelve teams, representing nine high school, between 0 and 15 goals, split in three leagues.

 

In the main final Los Robles “Blue” earned their first ever title after defeating New Zealand “White” (received 4.5 goals on handicap) by a tight 11-10.5 score.

 

The winners had Cruz Heguy within the lineup, who claimed this title for the third consecutive time – the two previous were with St. Catherine’s Moorlands). His three team mates –Antonio Heguy, Juan Cruz Gallegos and Matías Mac Donough Jr., engraved their names in the trophy for the first time.

Meanwhile, another Los Robles team, Los Robles “Yellow” defeated Los Médanos (received two goals on handicap) by a 8-5 score and won the Subsidiary Zeus Cup. The Bronze Cup went to  New Zealand “Black”, who took a 10-5.5 win over St. Catherine´s Moorlands “B” por 10-5.5.
