A new edition of the Joe Barry Memorial Cup kicked off on Sunday January 14. The tournament is currently underway at the National Polo Center and Port Mayaca Polo Club, located in the Florida area, United States, in Wellington and Okeechobee, respectively. The competition sees eigth teams between 12 and 16 goals, in participation, split in two brackets.

The Joe Barry Memorial Cup, established in 2005, is a tribute to American 9-goal player Joe Barry, who was born and raised in Truscott, Texas. He won the US Open six times (1968, 1970, 1974, 1975, 1977 and 1979), played the Americas Cup, as well as the Coronation Cup. He was induced into the Museum of Polo and Hall of Fame in February 1999, and passed away in 2002.

The final of the Joe Barry Memorial Cup is set to be played on Sunday January 28 at the National Polo Center.
