The semifinals of the IFZA Gold Cup, the most prestigious tournament played in Asia and the Middle East, have been set following the quarter finals that took place on Friday, February 26, at Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club. The tournament sees eight teams, up to 18 goals, compete.

 

In the day’s opener, Habtoor took a narrow 7-6 win over Dubai Wolves by CAFU. The match was a close one, only decided by Facundo Sola’s penalty conversion in the last chukka, when the score were tied 6-all. Up next, UAE Polo defeated Bangash 12-9. UAE’s MVP Tomás Panelo gave a spectacular performance, scoring six goals.

 

The semifinals of the IFZA Gold Cup are due to be played on Tuesday, March 2: Abu Dhabi will take on UAE Polo, while Habtoor will play Ghantoot.

 

The IFZA Gold Cup finals are set for Friday, March 5.
