The IFZA Gold Cup, the most prestigious tournament played in Asia and the Middle East, as well as being one of the most competitive in the world, kicked off on Tuesday, February 16. The tournament sees eight teams, up to 18 goals, compete at Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club.

 

Bangash, runner up of the IFZA Silver Cup, claimed a hard fought 12-9 win over IFZA Mahra. The match was tied 8-all going into the fifth and final chukka, but Bangash managed to take control of the action and take the victory.

 

Up next, Ghantoot, who made their debut in the Dubai Polo Gold Cup Series, defeated IFZA Silver Cup winners, Habtoor, by a 12 goals to 9, in what was a thrilling match.

 

The IFZA Gold Cup finals are due on Friday, March 5.
