The IFZA Gold Cup, the most prestigious tournament played in Asia and the Middle East, continued on Monday, February 22, with two matches at Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club. The tournament sees eight teams, up to 18 goals, compete.

In the first match of the day, Ghantoot defeated IFZA Mahra to finish top of League A. This assured them a place in the semis. Up next, Bangash defeated Habtoor, finishing second in their league, while Mohammed Al Habtoor’s team came in the third.

Consequently, Bangash and Habtoor are set to play a quarterfinal play-off, and await the results of Tuesday’s League B matches. IFZA Mahra qualified directly to the subsidiary semifinals.

 

The IFZA Gold Cup finals are set for Friday, March 5.
