Guards Polo Club Chairman Brian Stein has announced the new dates for the Queen’s Cup and the Royal Windsor:

I am delighted to confirm that our Polo Office has secured new dates for our two main tournaments and a new fixtures list is currently being compiled for the 2020 season. Our aim is to start playing polo in mid-May, probably behind closed doors, but the Polo Office will adjust as the situation allows. Antony Fanshawe and his team will make sure that there is plenty of polo at all levels as soon as we allowed to play. Our aim is to play until early October.

The key tournament dates for 2020 will be:

Cartier Queen’s Cup:  Tuesday 28 July – Sunday 23 August

By playing this tournament much later into the season gives both players and hopefully spectators the opportunity to fully participate in the 60th anniversary of this high-goal tournament. Everyone who has previously purchased grandstand seating or fieldside parking can automatically transfer their tickets to the new dates – semi-finals on Wednesday 19 August; final on Sunday 23 August – or apply for a refund by emailing accounts@guardspoloclub.com.

Out-Sourcing Inc. Royal Windsor Cup: Tuesday 11 – Sunday 30 August

The final will again traditionally be played a week later than the Cartier Queen’s Cup but this will now feature on the same weekend as our high-goal ladies tournament final, ensuring a fast-paced weekend of thrilling polo.  Everyone who has previously purchased grandstand seating can automatically transfer their tickets to this new date or apply for a refund by emailing accounts@guardspoloclub.com.

Please note that the Club is continuing to follow the Government’s coronavirus pandemic advice at all times though and we will be operating the HPA’s Covid 19 guidelines at all of our grounds for as long as is necessary.
