The draw of the Ylvisaker Cup, the second qualifying leg of the NPC 16-Goal Championship – the first is the Joe Barry Memorial Cup, which is currently underway – was conducted on Thursday January 22 at the National Polo Center (NPC), in Wellington, Florida, United States. The Ylvisaker Cup will take place through February 1-22, at Patagones Polo Club and the NPC.
The Ylvisaker Cup, established in 2003, is named after William T. “Bill” Ylvisaker, a true pioneer of the sport and the responsible for developing the Wellington area, in Florida, into a high-goal winter polo. The founder of the Palm Beach Polo and Country Club, Bill Ylvisaker contributed extensively to spread not only polo but also other equestrian sports, in the 70s and 80s.
The 2026 Ylvisaker Cup sees sixteen teams up to 17 goals, partake. Teams are split in three brackets. It’s worth to note that the teams in events played at the 16-goal level are eligible to receive one goal on handicap.
The semifinals of the Ylvisaker Cup are set to be played on Wednesday February 16, and the final is due on Sunday Februar 22.
