Delfín Uranga has been appointed President of the Argentine Association of Polo (AAP) following the 98th Ordinary Assembly of the AAP which took place via zoom on Thursday, May 27. Uranga steps in to replace Eduardo Novillo Astrada, who held the position from 2017 to 2021.

Uranga is currently 47-years-old, rated 4-goals, and has much experience as a director in the association. Prior to his position as Vice President of the AAP alongside Novillo Astrada’s terms in office, he was the President of the Argentine Polo Pony Breeders Association (2012-2016). Furthermore, he has been connected to two of the most renowned former AAP Presidents: His father, Marcos Uranga (1983-1987), and his father-in-law, Gonzalo Tanoira (2001-2004).

Other changes have also been made in the Board of Directors. The terms of both Eduardo Heguy and Ernesto Lalor have come to an end, with Ignacio Heguy, Nicanor Moreno Crotto, and Justo Saavedra stepping in. Meanwhile, the positions of Carlos Menéndez Behety, Juan Lastra, Martín de Narvaez and Delfina Donovan have been renewed.

The new President of the AAP is due to lead his first Board of Directors meeting to distribute the positions in the next few days. It is expected that Carlos Menéndez Behety will be appointed as Vice President.
