La Indiana defeated Aspen-Dutta Corp by 17 goals to 13 to claim the first spot in the semifinals of the CV Whitney Cup, the first leg of The Gauntlet of Polo,on Thursday at International Polo Club Palm Beach. The tournament sees nine teams, up to 22 goals, compete.

Michael Bickford, La Indiana’s patron, was back in the saddle, and both teams fought hard to take the advantage in the first four chukkas if the game. Bickford’s boys took off in the two last chukkas, widening their advantage and ultimately securing the win. La Indiana remain undefeated in the tournament so far.

 

The CV Whitney Cup final is scheduled for Sunday, March 7.
