The first leg of  The Gauntlet of Polo, the CV Whitney Cup, resumed on Saturday February 20, with a single match, at International Polo Club Palm Beach. The tournament sees nine teams, up to 22 goals, compete.

Following their narrow lost in their debut match against Pilot, Gillian Johnston’s foursome recovered in their second contest, by defeating Tonkawa 14-11. Led by a fantastic Nicolás Pieres, who produced no less than eight goals, Coca Cola managed to dominate the match, that saw them leading 8-5 by half time. However, Tonkawa bounced back in the following chukker to tie at 9-all, but Coca Cola was back and ready to seal the deal in the two last chukkas and earned an impressive 14-11 victory.

The final is scheduled for Sunday, March 7.
