The Coupe d’Or and Coupe de Bronze continued at Deauville international Polo Club over the weekend. In the Coupe d’Or, Barriere and Los Dragones claimed victories on Saturday, while Mungo defeated Le Pommeray HM on Sunday. 

The tournament, which has been played since 1950, is one of the most coveted trophies on the international calendar. This year’s edition sees six teams, up to 16 goals, playing for the title.

On Saturday, August 21, Barriere – led by their top scorer, Martín Aguerre Jr., who scored seven goals – defeated Brittany Polo by 9 goals to 6. Next, Sam Sztarkman shone as Los Dragones overwhelmed Talandracas to claim an impressive 12-6 win. Meanwhile, on Sunday, August 22, Mungo beat Le Pommeray HM by 9 goals to 8.

The Coupe d’Or resumes Monday, August 23, with the match between Brittany Polo and Talandracas, at 5,30pm.

The Coupe d’Or final is set for Sunday, August 29.

The Coupe de Bronze also continued over the weekend. IC Polo took a 9-7.5 win over La Grange Martin on Saturday, August 21, while Los Indianos claimed a 4-3 victory over Domador, on Sunday, August 22.

The Coupe de Bronze sees eight teams, between 6-8 goals, compete.

The final is due on Friday, August 27.
