The 55th. Torneo Internacional de Polo, hosted by Ayala Polo Club, in Sotogrande, is stepping into the last days. Wednesday August 19 saw the second matchdate within League 1, with Ayala and Dubai victorious over Dos Lunas IQ and La Dolfina Marqués de Riscal, respectively. Ayala earned a hard fought 11-10 win, in extra chukka, with Félix Esain producing the winning goal for Iñigo Zobel’s team in extra chukka. Meanwhile, and after a remarkable clash, Dubai had the deal said and done in the last chukka, with a couple of goals courtesy by Pedro Chavanne and Barto Castagnola, to seal the 13-10 win in the last minutes of play.

Meanwhile, games for League 2 were played on Thursday August 20; Brunei claimed their first win in the high goal Copa de Oro – the team captained by Pablo MacDonough beat Essso 15-13. It was followed by the clash between Sainte Mesme and Amanara; both teams played a very narrow contest, until Sainte Mesme were able to take the 11-10 win in extra chukka, with a golden goal by Carlos María Ulloa.
