A very successful 2022 Hublot Polo Gold Cup Gstaad came to an end on Sunday, August 21, with Clinique La Prairie claiming the title after defeating Kielder Agro by 9 goals to 7.5. The tournament, one of the most significant of the international calendar of polo, saw four teams, up to 14 goals, compete. Teams were composed of players from Argentina, Italy, Switzerland, Brazil United States and France.

An extraordinary Raúl Laplacette led Clinique La Prairie thoughout the four chukkas of play, as they battled against a fierce Kielder Agro lineup (received half a goal on handicap and saw Fabián Bolanteiro sub in for the injured Bautista Beguerie). Laplacette, MVP and top scorer of the final with 8 goals (and the tournament overall, with 15 goals), was Clinique La Prairie’s driving force against such a tough opponent.

With only one chukka left to play, Kielder Agro held a narrow 7-6.5 advantage. It was clearly anyone’s match, but in the last chukka, Sébastien Le Page’s team bounced back, scoring three unanswered goals to secure the title home. It is worth noting that Clinique La Prairie’s Lucas Labat was one of the defending champions, having won the last edition of the tournament with the same team back in 2019.

Prior to the final, in a very close match, Hublot beat Gstaad Palace by 5 goals to 4 to claim third place.
