Cibao La Pampa and Santa Quiteria have qualified for the final of the medium goal Volvo Bronze Cup following Wednesday’s action. Therefore, the first final of the 50th Anniversary Torneo Internacional de Polo by La Reserva Club de Sotogrande is set to be played on Friday, July 30.
Wednesday’s first match, played at Ayala Polo Club, saw Cibao La Pampa beat Nairobi by 13 goals to 9. The two remaining games were played at Dos Lunas in the afternoon: John Smith took a 11-9 win over Hodro, before Santa Quiteria and ATL Marine & Energy went head-to-head for a place in the final. After a hard fought match, Santa Quiteria took the 12-11 win to qualify for the final.
Action resumes on Thursday with the last league stage matches of the high goal Volvo Bronze Cup at Santa María Polo Club: Dos Lunas will play BP Polo, and Marqués de Riscal will take on BN Polo.
The 50th Anniversary Torneo Internacional de Polo by La Reserva Club de Sotogrande sees twelve teams, split into two categories, compete. The high goal is for 18-20 goal teams, while the medium goal is for 12-14 goal teams.
