Chapaleufu Epona claimed the ‘Campeonato Argentino del Interior con Handicap (CAIH)  Sesquicentenario de la Revolución de Mayo Cup’ for the ninth time following their 11-8 win over title holders, Venado Tuerto, in the final that took place at Club de Campo Mendoza, in the province of Mendoza, Argentina, on Saturday, May 7.

One of the most attractive and competitive tournaments of the Autumn Season in Argentina, the CAIH was played at Club de Campo Mendoza and La Estacada Polo Club, from May 1-9. Ten teams, between 11-16 goals, were in competition. Each team represented different Argentine provinces – Mendoza (2), Córdoba, Corrientes, Entre Ríos, La Pampa, Neuquén, Salta, Santa Fe and San Luis. The latter made history with their team, Los Sauces, which included Milagros Sanchez, the first woman to ever play the tournament, in the lineup. Sanchez even scored the winning goal in extra chukka to win the final of the subsidiary Roberto Cavanagh Cup. Meanwhile, the other Subsidiary, Copa Amistad, went to Ivi Maray (Córdoba).
