The British Open Gold Cup, one of the most important tournaments in the world, resumed on Thursday, July 2, with two matches at Cowdray Park Polo Club. The tournament sees seven teams, up to 22 goals, compete. The final is set for Sunday, July 26.

Monterosso won the first challenge of the day, beating Thai Polo NW 10-9. Notable, ridden by Guillermo Terrera, was named Best Playing Pony.

Meanwhile, Scone had to fight hard to defeat Polo Stud Schockemöhle. They eneded up winning by one goal (12-11). Nico Pieres was the top scorer (8) of the game, and Patrick Maleitzke’s Pili Cobradora took BPP honours.

The Gold Cup continues on Sunday, July 5, with two matches:

12pm: Les Lions/Great Oaks vs. Scone
3pm: Polo Stud Schockemöhle vs. Park Place Vaara
